Jackson Chourio collected four hits in World Series Game 3, helping the Brewers rout the Rays 10-1 on Monday, October 26. At 22 years and 229 days old, he became the youngest player with a four-hit World Series game since Joe Garagiola in 1946. Batting leadoff, Chourio singled in the first inning and again in the third, when he scored. He opened the fifth with another single, stole a base and came around to score. Later in the same inning, he returned to the plate and delivered an RBI double as Milwaukee completed an eight-run rally. Chourio has been a consistent force throughout the series. Through three games, he is batting .571 with eight hits, four runs, three stolen bases and two RBIs. His combination of hitting and speed has helped the Brewers build a 3-0 lead. The performance follows a productive regular season despite an interrupted start. A fractured left hand kept Chourio out for approximately the first two months, but he still finished with 25 home runs, 23 steals and an .838 OPS. Now in his third Major League season, the young leadoff hitter has helped put Milwaukee one victory away from the franchise’s first World Series championship.
