The Golden State Warriors have announced that Kristaps Porziņģis will remain away from the team for the immediate future as he continues dealing with an undisclosed health-related issue.

The 31-year-old center has missed training camp and preseason games while working with doctors and specialists to better understand and address his condition.

On October 13, Porziņģis visited Chase Center to meet with general manager Mike Dunleavy and Vice President of Player Health and Performance Dr. Rick Celebrini. The Warriors initially expected him to spend some time around teammates and staff despite remaining sidelined indefinitely.

However, the organization has now changed those plans, confirming that Porziņģis is not expected to be around the team in the immediate future.

Head coach Steve Kerr said he has remained in contact with Porziņģis through phone calls and text messages but could not provide further details about the situation. The Warriors also stated that discussions involving the player and his representatives will remain private and declined to address speculation about his health or potential trades.

Porziņģis previously shared a social media update explaining that doctors were still working to identify the cause of his health concerns, although he felt his condition was gradually improving.

Last season, Porziņģis appeared in 32 games combined for the Atlanta Hawks and Warriors, averaging 16.7 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.2 blocks. He agreed to a two-year, $40 million contract with Golden State this offseason.

No specific diagnosis or timetable for his return has been announced. The Warriors will provide further updates when appropriate.
