The Utah Jazz have announced that forward Jaren Jackson Jr. will be sidelined for at least six weeks after suffering a torn medial collateral ligament (MCL) in his right knee. Teammate Lauri Markkanen also sustained a right wrist sprain and is listed as day-to-day.

Both players were injured during Utah's 110-105 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies on October 26. Jackson suffered his knee injury in the second quarter, while Markkanen injured his wrist in the first quarter.

Jackson has averaged 16.3 points and 5.0 rebounds through his first four games of the 2026-27 season.

The former Grizzlies star joined Utah in a trade last season but appeared in only three games for the Jazz before undergoing season-ending surgery on his left knee.

Markkanen has also struggled with injuries in recent seasons, appearing in just 89 games combined over the previous two campaigns. He has not played more than 66 games in a single season since joining Utah before the 2022-23 season.

Both players ranked among Utah's top three scorers through the team's first three games, making their simultaneous injuries a significant setback.

Jackson is scheduled to be reevaluated in six weeks, with no confirmed return date. Markkanen remains day-to-day as the Jazz monitor his recovery.
